초록

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the experiences of patients undergoing early ambulation following surgical clipping of unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIA). Methods: A qualitative descriptive study was conducted, utilizing a combination of convenience and snowball sampling. Data were collected through in-depth one-on-one interviews with 14 adult patients who underwent UIA clipping at a tertiary hospital between November 2025 and January 2026. The transcribed interviews were analyzed inductively using conventional content analysis to identify meaningful categories. Results: The experiences of early ambulation were categorized into three themes: (1) Limited understanding; (2) Passive compliance; and (3) Adaptive adjustment. Conclusion: Early ambulation after UIA clipping is a complex process of personal negotiation influenced by physical sensations and interactions with caregivers. Healthcare professionals should provide clear guidelines regarding the timing and intensity of ambulation and actively engage caregivers to address patients' uncertainties.
